This years musical “ABBAcadabra” ran from November 16th to Saturday November 21st. The night of the 21st was chosen to be the Unions night. The musical was performed in the Jubilee Hall to a full audience which included over 80 union members and their guests. ABBAcadabra was a light hearted romance based on the music of ABBA. It was not “Mamma Mia” but was an original story set in a fictional north county Dublin town during the summer holidays when a group of visiting Spanish students cause chaos as the romantic lives of the local teenagers are temporarily disrupted. Written by Toirleac O’Brien and Brian Savage directed by Toirleac with musical direction by Una O’Kane and choreographed by Cathy Tonge; the show once again highlighted the talent that both the boys of Blackrock College and the girls of Mount Anville to offer.
Only by attending and supporting these events as past pupils do we get an opportunity to witness the levels of professionalism that is present in a production like ABBAcadabra. I would like to congratulate the entire production team, cast and crew for an entertaining night out.
