Blackrock Triumphs Again – A Proud Day for Classmates, Parents and Past Pupils

What a day to be a Rock man! On March 17, 2025, Blackrock College once again proved why we are a force in Leinster Schools Rugby, securing our 72nd Senior Cup title with a gritty 14-9 win over a tough Terenure side at Tallaght Stadium.

From the first whistle, the boys in blue showed their intent, with Harry O’Neill crashing over the line in the eighth minute to give us an early 5-0 lead. Terenure fought back with two penalties, edging ahead 6-5 at halftime, but we all knew Blackrock wasn’t going down without a fight.

The second half saw Paddy Clancy step up under pressure, nailing three clutch penalties to put us back in control. Terenure threw everything at us, even crossing the line at one stage, but a disallowed try and some heroic defence ensured we held firm until the final whistle.

Another title. Another chapter in our proud history. The future of Blackrock rugby is as bright as ever and this victory is one to Appreciate. Well done, lads!
