Michael is a historian and author. On retiring from working in the National Toll Roads in 2010, Michael began a degree in English and History at St Patrick's College, Dublin City University which he completed in 2013. In 2016 he completed a MA. This book is based on initial research for a major thesis on land reclamation on the south shore of Dublin city in the eighteenth century which led to massive urban expansion and formed the basis of the modern city. In the thousand years of Dublin history no period of expansion comes anywhere near that of the period 1708-1844 when the city more than doubled in size.
Michael launched during the pandemic so unfortunately, no official launch could go ahead but it is out now on general release and selling well so visit your local book store and support your fellow rockman.
