Bob Geldof (Class of 1969) was honoured at the annual Blackrock College Union London Lunch, which took place at Smith & Wollensky on Friday, 8th March. President of Union, David Gillett (Class of 1987) and Principal Yvonne Markey both addressed the packed house of 180 guests that included Ryan Tubridy (Class of 1991), Bob Casey (Class of 1996) and special guests, former England rugby player Roger Uttley and tennis superstar Pat Cash.
Geldof spoke passionately and honestly about his time at Blackrock College and his journey since leaving Blackrock College in 1969 during which his fearless global activism has influenced world leaders and changed the lives of millions of the poorest and most deprived people on our planet.
